F-150 Step Bars

I'm looking for some stainless step-bars for my '05 F-150 SuperCrew. Does anybody have any recommendations for the bars, and a reputable website that carries them?

Thanks!

stock?

zabeard 11-29-2010 07:10 AM

moved to the Fseries section...

Bob, I prefer the stock ones myself. Check out F150online maybe find some in the classifieds.

Thank you for your replies, and suggestion Zach!

Yes, I would like stock. I have found bars made by Raptor (5" oval stainless) which are supposed to be very similar to
the Ford bars.

I had a set of raptor bars on my Superduty, they are ok but i removed them the first day. lol

Thanks Zach. Did you have the 5" ovals?

I agree Bob, get the stock steps. The aftermarket steps rust away in a hurry.

I sold the steps from my truck soon after I bought it. To me, they actually make it harder to get in/out, I hated them. I listed them on f150online.com and craigslist, someone locally picked them up.

I would sell you mine Bob but my mother and fiance would yell at me again. Gotta love short women.

No they are round. Personally I have seen both the raptor and stock ones, i prefer the stock ones, the quality is so much better.

My stock ones are laying out in the shop at the farm somewhere, but it wouldn't be fun to ship them I guess. They just made my pants get muddy and built up ice in the winter so I removed them, people complain when they get in, but its my truck, so they can walk if they have a problem lol.

Thanks to all for your posts!

Yes, my wife is only 4'10", so she has a rough time getting in and out of it. After she bought it for me, I had to buy a little stepping stool which I use for her getting in and out.
We went to the Ford dealer last Saturday to see how the
step bars on a new F-150 Supercrew 4WD worked for her,
and they worked well.

Maybe it was a mistake, but I ordered the Raptor 5" stainless ovals yesterday with one of the cyber specials. I did talk with the A.R.E. dealer that installed my fiberglass tonneau cover, and he said he carries the Raptor line. He said his customers have been real happy with the 5" stainless ovals.

Bob I am sure they will work just fine. I just didnt care for my round ones on my truck. All personal preference though.

I checked, and the Raptor round bars only have a 3" step. So,
I can understand why you didn't care for them.

Thanks!

The Raptor 5" oval stainless step bars arrived, and I installed them. They were easy to install, and are very well made. Here are a few photos:

Those are nice! I like that rubber tread on there, thats a lot nicer than the stock ones.

No mud guards so you will be forever washing them off.
