Frame?

Want to put nerf bars on the blue 88. Want to buy these. But says will not fit with reinforced heavy duty frame. How do I know if I have that? Looks like a normal frame to me. Is there something in the VIN? When entering the truck specs for fitment, doesn’t ask if 4x4.

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AN F-150 ?

Swampsauce 06-03-2020 06:43 PM

Man I feel stupid. Yes sir. It’s an 88 f150 4x4. I thought I was posting under another thread. It didn’t register to me when it asked me for a title to the thread. Sorry to confuse

Confusing... No ! BUTT... not sure what kind of answers you will get in a Ranger Forum !

I have never heard of an HD Frame on a Ranger, I'm thinking there was one in the F-150 but can't say for sure !

Good Luck / Ltr

That HD is not for "Heavy Duty" it's for "Harley Davidson"

Understand the ranger forum and f150. But the folks here are a lot nicer than a couple of the other forums. Maybe more tolerant of dumb questions and typos. And I figured maybe some of the folks here are a little like me, own/owned and worked on both.

OK on the nicer people And the knowledge base is vast, I too com back time and agin !

The "HD" is for heavy duty, off the top of my head, Ford made a Heavy Duty F-150 or maybe they were just thinking on it, but that was years back.
