slowly gettin ready for tires...

so my tires are about half *** bald and i need to start lookin into gettin tires. not sure which tire yet but ive narrowed it down to a 33x11.50, 33x12.50, 34x12.00, 35x11.50, and 35x12.50. only thing im concerned with is that idk how much bigger a 33 is to a stock rugged trail, would like to see side by side bc i dont wanna dish out 1000k+ for tires for just a little bigger. and im worried about the 35s bein too big and not giving the suspension much travel, hitting the inside fender when flexing or rubbing really bad. i plan on gettin 18x? ATX teflon mojaves in the future so keep that in mind for tire size. a poll will be for the actual tire but not the size so vote for the size in a post thanks!

i really like the nitto trail grapplers but its so hard to decide on a big purchase like this. especially considering ill be stuck with them for a while

what do you plan on doing with the truck? do you off road it or anything or does it stay on the streets.

also with a leveling kit you can fit 35s easily. with out any rubbing

Not true at all. Most 35s rub with a leveling kit. Some more than others.

If your going after market rims your need to get it with a smaller tire. I'm pretty sure that you won't be able to run a 35x12.5 on after market rims with just a leveling kit without serious rubbing.

Cooper STT"s is what im going with in 33's when the time comes, to much power lose with the 35's if you still need to tow something unless you have a money tree in the back yard and can justify regearing also. Heres my thread with pictures of 33's:

I think I'm going down to a 33-34 tire as well when these wear out. I like the size but I like MPGs a little more.

i was thinkn bout the 295s but theres only a few tires i can find that have that size. and i think they are more on the 34.5x11.50 side than a 33.?x11.? but it depends on the brand i guess. thats what i was gonna get if i get the trail grapps. so why wont the 35x12.50s fit on an aftermarket wheel with just a leveling kit? and yes, i do go off the beatin path. and ive always had mudtires when i actually bought them.

The aftermarket wheel is normally wider with more of a offset to push it out. Makes the actual tire stick out more so you catch a lot more stuff.

oh ok. so since it sticks out more, when i turn itll hit the bumper. i would like to see a 33x12.50 next to a stock rugged trail just to see the size comparison

im a big fan of the wrangler silent armors at my last job i put those tires on all of are trucks f-150's f-250's and f-350's they last forever the trucks were used on and offroad for the oilfield and they stood up well to abuse i would have gotten them but i wanted a more agressive looking tread pattern i have the goodyear wrangler autority at's (not on goodyears site made for walmart only) i love the look of them but hate that they pick up every pebble in the road

zachs, WAY too loud for my taste. ive experienced them first hand and i HATED it lol. km2s, possibly but ill most likely have to buy new bc i cant afford to pay all at once. ill pay half or a little more and do like 90 days SAC. not sure on 34x11.50 or 35s. stockers are almost 33s, and i want a 12.5 wide tire so itll stick out a lil now and when i get aftermarket wheels. if they made a 34x12.50 on the other hand thatd be sweet. only one ik of is BFG AT KO

ive been lookin at 305/60/18 tires and they look damn near stock. at least on the height, but they are wider for sure and they look good. i dont want the stuffed look like the 35s bc i want some travel, but 33s look too small. the 295s would be perfect if they were 12.50s...

lol, kinna what i said. ill prolly get a price on the km2s next time i get a chance. toyos are out of the question, crazy expensive. bighorns dont have good sizes and dont go that big, and the cooper stt are more than the damn nittos lol. im not sure what i wanna do, i want 35s but i dont wanna be stuffed right now. but im gonna get a lift next year and dont want it to look goofy as hell with smaller tires. im gonna need tires within the next 6 months so waiting to get the lift is outta the question. and id like to get wheels sometime by the end of the year and yall say 35s will rub like crazy so its a win lose situation i guess lol.

so what will fit better and still look good on the truck and still fit with aftermarket rims? 35x12.50s, 295/70/18, 305/60/18, or 325/60/18?
