so i just got off the phone with my insurance people.. they will write me a check for whatever the damages are minus my 1K deductable.

OOOOH and something nice i noticed about the police report.. the cop LIED. said there was only 1 passenger in the car when there were 4!! im thinking he did this because she was 16 and that is ILLEGAL.

not too mention he is saying i only have 1500 worth of damage. YEAH.. its going to cost more than that to paint everything..

nice thing is i have rental reimbursement so i get a rental car for 30 days for free. which is nice

I have no idea what it will cost, but I would get a few quotes, definitely some from Ford autobody shops and request they be quoted with new Ford parts instead of cheap knock-off stuff.

I need to add rental to my policy as well. I put it on my wife's car but not my truck. The only accident my wife and I have been in was not our fault, so the other company got us a rental.

yeah i have a mazda 3 for 30 days totally free.

I wish i could drive the truck to a few different shops.. The front fender rubs into the tire too much though for me to drive it. took pics to a few different shops but they wouldnt even look at the pics.. said if they dont have the truck there they cant do anything..

heres what im thinking though.. and this all depends on what the appraiser quotes me at.

I have the ford dealership repair the fender/light, brakes and whatever else that needs to be replaced, and if i have any money left over, use it to get a off-road bumper! lol

well i want the appraiser to see it as it sits before i start beating it. Tomorrow i will prb. hammer the hell out of it, and if i can get it far enough back to drive it, i will take it by a few different shops.. although the brakes are VERY iffy, and the alignment is SHOT.

got my estimate today. $3300 in damage. So im getting 2300. Truck goes to the shop tomorrow, they will start working on her in a week, and it should be done in 2-3 weeks which is perfect, gives me enough time to get the $1000 together. I had to scrap the custom bumper idea because there arnt any shops around here that will build me one less than 1500 bucks.. so just going to go stock for the time being, and then work on building my own.
