Oppinions needed!

Im still kind of up in the air on which direction i want the new F150 to go in(lifted, or just keep it the current hight, supercharger, etc), but i do know the color scheme.

The truck is a solid DSG. I am wanting to go with a DSG/Black look. All the emblems will be Black with DSG lettering. Should i go with flat black or gloss?
Also, I am active duty Air Force, and very proud of it, so I want to incorporate some AF in it as well.

Im ordering all my decals from patriot as i have heard nothing but good things about them.

Here is one of the big things i want your guys' oppinions on. on their website, they have an FX4 decal that has the air force wings behind it. I think this would look pretty BA if it were blacked out. What do you guys think? the FX4 off road would be black and the the wings would be black as well.. or poss. black outline and dsg coloring?

Here is a pic of the truck:

yeah, the only thing im a little eary about is the FX4 emblem with the Air Force wings in the background. On the website there isnt a color option for the wings and there is no phone number for patriot decals..

Stay level and put 35's/nicer OEM wheels on it and a supercharger. Lift kits have too many negatives aside from looking cool, I'll never lift anything again. And I think the decal would look cool.

I like my 4" lift kit a lot. Granted I bought it used but it rides and drives like stock if not better.

35s are 35s, when you level it, it will change the balljoint angles and will wear balljoints out faster than normal.

A lift kit will keep the geometry.

IMO and others probably wont agree but if done right I think that it would look good if you got the lower rockers line-x'd black. Then a small lift and 35's.

You should get the 09 emblems for it and do it like Lone Ranger 93s, his look sick on his DSG. If you do lift, stick with the 4". The Fabtech and Procomp look bad with the huge drop member and how the stick the wheels out so far. Thats all my opinion of course.

I can't wait to run a real lift (4-4.5") and get my front end angles back to stock. Leveling is ok but has it's downsides. I keep putting off lifting until I can lift, re-gear, buy new wheels and tires all at once.

do you have any ideas on what wheels/tires you want to go with? what gears as well? Im thinking 4.10's should be good with 35's, right?

4.10s will barely bring it back to stock. I think 4.56 is the way to go with 35s.
Wheels depend on the lift really. Backspacing specs are different on some lifts as well as front track width. More than likely I'd go with superlift 4", 17x9 with 4.5-5" backspacing and 35x12.50s or 315s, 4.56 gears.
The rancho looks like a nice lift and you can run more backspacing so the wheels don't stick out so far. but there are rare times in Oregon where mountain passes require everyone to use chains (or if you are towing) and they won't clear the rear shocks with the rancho and wheels like Zach has.

4.56s for sure, they are on my list with 35s.

As for wheels I like the Rancho because just about any wheel will work including stock wheels.

Thanks guys! i really like the Rancho Kit.. I havnt honestly looked at the superlift kit though.. The Rancho kit brings the geometry back to stock, correct? Which is less wear on parts...

Zach- how much did you spend on your lift? i know you found it used which is what i want to do..

I think Zach basically paid normally price for the kit (1600) and got the wheels and tires for free lol

I paid 1600 for wheels, tires, and rancho lift.

granted, i ended up needing balljoints, new lower arms, new eccentric bolts, brake lines, cv spacer, cv bolts, and a new CV shaft. which added up to an additional 500, plus i had to have it aligned twice for 60 each visit. lol

i finally buttoned the whole thing up today, and man do i love it. rides better than stock, handles speed bumps so well too. great handling and ride.

35s aren't bad IMO, I have no problem with it. I think Zach has a slightly different opinion though lol. Its all real personal opinion though, just drive with it for a few weeks and then decide if you want to spend the money to gear it or not after that.

Well. It's ok for daily driving. I hate it on the interstate and it sucks towing. Well it doesn't suck it works fine but I know what will fix it so I have to be different and fix it.
