98 ford explorer only blows heat
So, the explorer has the automatic climate control and i cant get it to blow fresh air or AC, and ac dont work anyway. All it will blow is heat, and very hot heat at that. The automatic climate control system WILL change positions of where to blow and fan speed, so i think the computer thing is ok. I was thinking maybe its the blend door actuator?

In 1995 Ford changed to an Electric Blend Door and it has been a problem ever since, lol.
The Blend Door is the temp control, the ONLY temp control, it sends fan's air flow thru heater core or blocks the flow thru heater core, and anywhere in between.
Your Blend Door is sending all air thru heater core, and not changing/moving when lower temp is selected, so electric motor is bad, or Blend Door "handle" has broken off, both are the most common issues.
For quick temporary fix you could by pass heater core in engine bay.
If you have a MAX AC setting you can use that, unplug AC compressors 2 wire connector, if AC isn't blowing cold, you don't want compressor turning, it could run out of oil.
If AC is "kinda" working then leave compressor plugged in, it has Freon circulating so compressor will get oiled.
Then select MAX AC on climate control
This should Close the Fresh air vent, and shut off coolant flow thru heater core, using vacuum valve in engine bay
FYI, on any vehicle thats what Max AC does, closes fresh air vent and shuts of flow to heater core in cab, Air Conditioning ONLY has ON/OFF there is no "high/low" or even a temp control, compressor is either on or off.
If MAX AC doesn't work then you can pull off both heater hose at the fire wall and connect them together, physically by-pass the heater core.
