Finally did it, got a new(er) truck...
We broke down and entered the 04+ F150 club back in Janurary. Got a 2006 F150 SC FX4. Really was the only trim line i liked and this one caught my eye. It had just 31,258 miles when we got it. So far i like it a lot, but it just cant take the place of my 93 F150 (which i still have, along with my 88 F-350).
On our trip to the OBX i pounded the truck the whole time and it never missed a beat and got an average of 15.2 mpg as well.
So far i put on over 4,000 miles and have nothing bad to say. Only thing the PO did was add manual towing mirrors. It was clean as a whistle with a few dings but overall like new. Even took it down to the outer banks a few weeks ago. So far i had a magnaflow muffler put on, shaker 500 Hu from a 06 mustang, new pioneer speakers, black toolbox, Gotts mod, 09+ signal mirrors, 2" level kit and 275/75/18 BFG ATs.
Only complaints are/were the rattling rear doors, faded flares, to much plastic and the AC drain was dripping inside getting my passenger carpet wet (there is a TSB for this). Other than that its been pretty good.
I plan to still add harley style head n taillights, chrome turn signal bulbs, black billet grill, 09+ emblems, some minor things and later down the road a full system and a completly new exhaust. Getting a tuner soon for it, from 5 star.
