I'm not 100% sure on your truck because thers some differences between it and my 04 but I had to install a steering extension, and them a couple other brackets to drop the radiator back down and extend ground straps, random stuff like that. It's really not a hard thing to do but a suspension lift would probably be easier to install. Check summitracing.com and 4wheelparts.com for the lifts.

Hell a tire would give you a 1 inch lift. Just get some spindles for the front. For the rear you can't loose with the add-a-leaf/chevy shackle combo. Take advantage how cheap a 2wd lift kit is.

since you are 2wd (like me) 3 inch bl may not be enough to clear 33s. I was doing measurin for mine about a hour ago, and im going 4 sup. and 2 body. 2wd i beam rangers are easy to lift sup wise. Rough Country or tuff country has 4 in sup. lift kits for 440 on ebay all the time. I was looking at them yesterday, and they seem soild. Alot of people around here run them with no problem. The drop brackets was what i am worried about since they are thin and not really braced well, but since i am in machine shop tech this year i can use them as a template and beef them up.

Also since you have a 2.3 (like me again) i would invest in a 8.8 axle with l/s from a junkyard first. Be about 200 for one with 4.10s and ls or least mine was, or find one with higher gears (3.73 or 3.55) which ever axle is cheaper since you are going to have to swap gears anyway. Im going to run 4.56s with 33s. I have the gears in my shop. The 2.3 is going to need all the help it can get from gears so invest in 4.30s or 4.56s depends if you do more highway or city. Mine will be offroaded so i went with 4.56s.

I machined my front coil spacers for free at shop. They are .750 chromoly and gave me 1.5 inches of lift in the front. People say it is bad to do, but i have been runnin them for over 7 months now and hit ruts, bumps, ditches, and a dog or two and nothing in my front sup. shifted at all.

regear the rear.. humm i already have 31's on the back and it seem to be doing fine.. ill stick with 31's for the time being bc i was only going to invest $500 or so for this lift. this time around. i dont have acess to a shop but maybe if u could make a 2nd set of front coil spacers we could talk some money deals =).

I used stock ranger 4x4 shocks on mine like 19 bucks each at advance auto parts. Rides kinda rough but could be alot worse. Im upgrading to bilstiens (sp) when i get the lift on. Any idea what gear ratio you have in the rear? I know with my slick 31s and my 4.10s mine is a turtle...

i use to know bro.. but i wanna say its 4.10. it whatever came stock on the ranger. im not in it for the speed..just for the look and sometime some off road fun. im looking at skyjacker lift and it talking like i need some serious stuff. would 33's in the rear and 31's in the front be a big deal ?
.
. plz give feed back ( all constructive) thanks

Besides really looking kinda funny, wouldnt hurt anything. 3.73s is probably what you have, i know mine came with 3.73s stock, but 3.73s or 4.10s, you can 1-2 in bl it and level the front and run 32x11.50. Redneckstone had a 93 single cab 2.3 with coil spacers, no bl, and 32s with 3.73s. Looked great, to bad he sold it.

Sky jacker on our i beamed trucks is the holy grail of lifts but its top quality parts. Fab tech and others dont touch or ibeamed rangers (least i dont think so) next is camburg. They make alot of stuff for the pre runner trucks and the only company that sents bent beams instead of drop brackets to correct camber.

Dont think there is any modification for a 2 inch, but then again im not to much on any body lift myself, maybe someone else can chime in and correct me if im wrong. As for ease of install, they are simple...bride a few buddies and you can have it done in a day. Have had a friend do one in a day by himself with a few jacks and alot of patience he said.

May i ask where you found the 2 inch bl? I been looking at maybe bl mine for looks and dont want a 3in but thats all i can find. This forum is full of guys that know everything about rangers. This is the best forum for rangers there is, hands down.

Don't even bother with a 2 inch body lift, just get the 3.

If you just want to level the truck without any "additional" suspension lift you can get leveling coils for the front. Skyjacker's lifted mine about 1.5 inches. Shocks won't provide you with lift. However, new shocks should be in order when you lift the suspension.

If you have the 2.3L then "fitting" some 33s shouldn't be the first of your problems

Might want to look into regearing the rear end

The chevy shackle is actually a drop (lowering) shackle made for the chevy 1500. It adds about 1.5 inches of lift and works great with a add-a-leaf. I believe some of the shackles have a grease fitting too. Most guys use the Belltech 6400 2" chevy drop shackle.

Another thing, your going to want to regear that rearend. If you have the 7.5 rear just get a 8.8 with 4.10's. Junkyards are your best bet for one of those.

yeah, they're easier to lift than the IFS starting in 98 on up...

97 and older is easier and cheaper to lift... Not to mention the TTB/TIB is a lil stronger than the IFS D35
