03' front axle question

I need some help, I've asked shop mechanics, gearheads and even the Ford dealership what differential I have in the front IFS of my 03' FX4 level2 Ranger but I seem to get a different answer everytime Some say its Dana35, a 7.5" but I always thought it was an 8.8" because of the FX4 package. I've tried the search but came up empty handed, thanks.

It's a Dana 35. You have a 31 spline 8.8 in the back.

yup. is it straight up a D35 or is it a modified one?

its still all stock, thanks guys.

i wasn't asking if it's been modified by you. i meant that it might have been modified for our trucks hence a modified D35.

its an aluminum housing, thats special.. and the housing is a different shape, its not the same shape diff cover as a rear D35 from a jeep. the ring gear may be 7.5" though(maybe?).. The only thing an 8.8 comes in the front of, that I'm aware of, are F-150/Expeditions.
