1/4 mile times

What is your best 1/4 mile time in your ranger?
And who on RF has the fastest ranger in the 1/4 mile?

I know it’s not me

about 16.4 with the 4x4 4.0 and 16.93 on my 3.0. so not me. I never went with the mods and stock tires on the 4.0. I went all stock and then with the go fast mods but taller tires. All I did was keep pace with the tires. I ran about the same times.

my 88 2.9 ran high 9's in the 1/8 but there is no 1/4 mile near me so i don't know what it would run.

Edit: never ran the new truck, not yet at least.

I disagree. I swear half the races end up in a redlight or break out. The slower car has the first opportunity to redlight. Instant win for the faster car.

On the finish line side. A faster car just has to catch up pass the other car. The optimum thing is they pass them and slow down to assure they don't break out.

I was in a series where it was a true green light, no yellows. In that case I was able to manipulate with a slower car. It was so advantaged to the slow car that if I saw a slower car I was putting wheels in the trunk to weight it down and slow it down more. It was crazy.

No a slow car has the advantage bc the slow car goes first the fast car has to wait and usually the fast driver gets impassion
Specialty if the slower car eggs the other guy on

Now this is what I’m hated for, as the faster car is caching up I turn my brake lights on to make it look like i'm putting on my brakes but i'm not.

I have bin bracket racing for 9 years at 75-80 speedway in Monrovia, MD or at Mason Dixon dragway in Hagerstown md

You redlight, I win. That happens a bunch. Just a different point of view so don't take offense.

In bracket racing I'd rather be faster. Consistency is irrelevant cause I'm gonna have a dial in I know I can hit. Once I pass you I whoa it down.

I've won both ways. As you know, if you nail the light and nail your time you've won. It all has a factor. Screw up the launch and you've lost or you resort to mind games to win at the end. I've been behind and stayed next to them long enough to have them break out while I whoa it down so I don't. I lose but I win.

I will say this- regardless of faster or slower it is probably one of the biggest mind games you can play. The fact that you recognize that and manipulate it means you are a player. It's fun and a LOT of people don't get it.

0-60=10.4sec, 1/4 mile=17.94 but at 79mph

i dont know if its a actual 1/4 mile but that sounds right
i have a 91 explorer with a 4.0ohv k/n filter, bbk tb, hollowed cats, flowmaster exhaust
33x12.5r15 mud tires, stock 3.73 gears, oh and a auto tranny

If you put it in 4wheel low you might drop your time a good bit, if it doesn’t run out of steam on the other end.
