hey guys, is 100$ a good price for a 3.0 engine out of a 99 ranger? It has blown headgaskets. I might buy it to rebuild in my garage. my truck has 150k on it now so its getting worn.

 

For a blown headgasket sure $100 ain't bad.

 

I'd say its a good deal as long as there's nothing more than that wrong with it. Usually blown headgaskets can lead to other issues as everyone knows if not taken care of, just as with anything else. I say if you plan on rebuilding it and replacing old parts with new ones than it would be worth it. But like I said, make sure it is the only issue with that engine and nothing more serious.

 

yea sorry if i was unclear. I would buy this to rebuild in my garage. and have around in case my engine ever takes a dump. which leads me to my next question. do any vendors sell rebuild kits?
