9007 bulbs. You kind of have to push hard to get them in but they work. Also you can take the metal ring around the bulb to get more light output. Remember that the fogs are different for the left and right sides.

Don't go too much higher on the wattage because you will fry the wiring. I have Silverstar Ultras in the fogs and headlights.

Muse, i think sylvania makes H3 silverstars.? But why? really. 55/65w off road lights. come on now man.

You are right. I read the thread wrong. 9007 is for the headlights. Sorry.

Here is the thread. https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=54219

I got the 55w because they are behind my grill and I needed lights that were both thin and not going to get overly hot so as to not mess up the paint ya know. I will prob get the silverstars though that is what I have been thinking anyway

i used to run 9005's in my lower factory fogs and (believe it or not) went back to the 9145's... the 9005's were too bright and since they only lit up the immediate area in front of the truck, my depth perception was off.
but, my hella amber fogs on the brush guard have 100 watt bulbs.

i just installed 9005 in my fog lights 2 days ago. all i did to the 9005 was instead of forcing it in one of the 3 side arms on the bulb was a little 2 long so i took the with of a hacksaw blade off it and it slipped in no prob. i upgraded from the factory 45 whatt to 65 watt.

this is what i installed

whatt a diff in light. now they actually match my headlight bulbs.

I went with the 9005. Advance had 9145s but they were all crushed and were way to expensive so i went with Sylvania XtraVision bulbs for $20. they are a good bit brighter but not so much that it takes away from the headlights. i was gunna match the fogs with the headlights Silverstars but couldnt justify $40 and quite frankly i cant take the white light of the SSs, i perfer the XVs i dont really know what she thinks cuz i never asked lol.

No melting.. They don't even get hot... Jeremy (Previous owner of my truck) modded them. They take a 9004 bulb and I'm running 3000k HID's... Since they're glass they wouldn't melt anyways... Not to my knowledge
