2.3l duratec performance
what reasonable gains can be expected from a duratec 2.3l, by installing (1) performance chip, (2) performance style air intake, and (3) performance exhaust system(using original header)??
i've given up on finding a turbosytem that's affordable/reliable. need more power to pull my boat/trailer; a little more for playing around wouldn't hurt, either.

i/h/e with a tune would net maybe 2hp, a proper tuner (no hyperjet crap) with dyno time maybe good for 10hp. if you need to tow get another truck with a bigger motor because your not gonna get much more out of it then you already are short of building it for NA power or boost.
the stock intake feeds a 4.0 handily so ditching it for a cai on a dtec is kind of pointless, if you want the sound of a cai, keep the stock paper filter, pull the silencer on the intake box, and run a 2.5" tube in place of the factory rubber.
