2 axles
2 axles
my buddy is swapping front and rear axles on his 2 jeeps. one jeep has a blown motor but has more gear so he is putting those axles on his newer jeep. any way the newer one is 92 Cherokee thats what he's taking the axles off and he wants to sell the axles separate or together. it doesn't matter. but about how much could he get for each? they are both good but have 3.07 gears or something like that. or would anyone want the front axle for a future SAS? im mostly wondering more than anything if anyone wants the front axle for their SAS. or if you need any other parts off the cherokee
Front should be a Dana 30, not a BAD axle but if I were putting in a new axle I would go for a 44.
Unless the rear is a 44, it will be a USELESS Dana 35 (edit I THINK XJs may have come with 8.25s, not impressive in any c ase)......here's what I did with an old Dana 35, probably about the most use those things should get....

No, the front MAYBE if you found someone that had an older disconnect YJ and wanted to switch out the axle or something to that effect.
Rear D44 would be easy to unload, I think some XJs came with them and other Jeep people use them. Otherwise the 8.25 and especially the D35 are not good rear swaps......it's like putting a 7.5 in Ranger.
I am also making a stool out of an old axle.....you can make some fun stuff if you get creative...
