2001 Ranger 4x4 XLT ABS light
I just replaced both of the front hub bearing assy's due to noise ( hard to explain the noise but few mech`s suggested that it for sure was at leat one of the hub assy`s ). I am sure I didn't make any replacement mistakes, however; now the ABS light is ON ( tried to reset by disconnecting the battery with no fix ), therefore; no ABS and also the noise is still there. Any idea?

you made sure to buy the correct ones right? some dont have abs on them...pretty silly question but you never know

2001 Ranger ABS light
I installed exaclty same hub assy's.
|
is it like a high pitched sqealing type of noise that does it at low speeds? this is what mine is doing but i cant figure out what it is
|
just get the codes pulled and that will point you in the right direction

This is a new truck for me and since it is a howling noise at low speed only I didn't suspect the tires but now it looks like I might of replaced the hub bearings for nothing and caused a problem with the ABS.

Did you happen to look at your ABS cylnder type things when you had the hub assemblys apart. sometimes people mess those things up with they change them out.
|
The hub assy's include the housing, the bearing, the abs sensor, the wiring. etc. and is all one piece bolted on with 3 bolts. I don't believe these assy's can be taken apart unles you have a fully equiped shop.
