2002 Mazda B3000 (Ford Ranger) a few questions.
I bought a new truck a week or two ago, an 02 Mazda B3000 Ford Ranger V6 Automatic with 174k mileage. V6 Dual Sport extended cab, it's a really clean truck in which i'll provide some pictures at the end of this post, but i have a few mechanical questions.
When i first start the vehicle and drive it, O/D is automatically on and you have to turn it off if you don't want it rather than it being off and being turned on when you need it, is this a standard feature and what are the pros/cons of running with O/D on and should it be run during normal operation of the vehicle without strain/load?
When i turn the key back, ACC/Accessory doesn't engage, no electrical components work and no chime is heard. Is Accessory a feature of this vehicle or is there possibly an issue with the relays/wiring, where should i look?
Wheres a good place to find parts like a hood bug deflector, dash cover, etc?
Thank you.

On my 99 B3000, ACC only operates the radio/CD player and nothing else. (no chime is heard)
With the key off the clock does not illuminate, but the clock does show when switched to ACC.
If the radio/CD player does not work with ACC on, then you have a problem, if that is the only thing that works, then as far as I know, there's nothing wrong.
On our Ford cube van with OD, it stays on all the time unless it's shut off.
Like yours, it's an automatic transmission, the computer and load on the engine will decide to engage it or not _ nothing to worry about, leave it on.

If the stereo never worked, then assume whom ever wired it in, did it wrong before assuming an ignition problem.
Most aftermarket stuff like this has an in line fuse which becomes accessible once it's pulled.
The actual truck fuse for the stereo itself should be checked as well.
What happens too, is guys use cheap electrical tape that "creeps" off and shorts occur.
This also blows fuses as well.
Easy enough to go in there with a volt meter and check if there is 12 volts _ usually a red wire.
