ya but its not like the exhaust is touching the plastic. its an inch or better away from it.

even after a 250 mile trip 1-2 inches away from the pipe its just fine not much heat at all.

only thing you might run into trouble is sitting still for too long.

^ True, but you could always use header wrap and heat shield your tank....But Im just saying...its probably not the best option out there...especially for n00bs who arnt proficient with a pipe bender or ppl who try and run pipes 2.5" or larger....Besides the restriction of the needed bends to complete that pipe would totally make running pipes for increased exhaust flow moot.

Maybe he found some other way to do it, but I agree, it can't have much performance value, if any. All the bends neccessary to get the pipe out the driver's side (if bent around the gas tank) would cause for too many restrictions for the air flow.

Dont forget having to circumvent the d-shaft and full droop and stuff! It just doesnt seem like a sound decision whether or not the owner went over or around the tank...just not worth the effort IMO

How about this one.. I happen to know the owner too!

Here is the dealer I'm trying to undercut. He wants $17,995 for the exact same thing as my truck except he's got just under 49k miles.. Oh, and his price includes their "push-pull or tow trade allowance of $2000". So tack $2k to the starting price if you aren't trading..

It's a 2003 4x4 so it must be a 4.0L. I think the last year for the 3.0L 4x4 was 2000.

I was thinkin off cutting my truck frame short when I SAS'd but I like a fullsize bed and it seemed like a hassle. I would've switched to a reg bed then cut her down..
But eh, having a jeep wheelbase isn't that important.

Interesting. I have a 2003 Ranger brochure that says that all models with 4x4 get only the 4.0L.

You wouldn't understand applejohn. A shorter wheelbase = much better for offroading.

What are you smokin? I could find a damaged reg cab and modify it easily as hell to work. But that plans off, not really that needed, especially when i'm gonna DD it too.
