2004 Ranger FX4 Water Fording and Breathers

I'll be taking my truck hunting this year and we typically ford a couple of streams. What's the deepest water my truck can go through? I know the FX4 level 2's have extended breathers but does the FX4 have extended breathers as well?

Breathers for the axles?

Yes, the differentials and transmission.

All of them are the same, you can just buy longer tubing from a hardware store and replace them

Rule of thumb on almost any vehicle is to stay below the headlights. Unless you have a snorkel and extended breathers and have water proofed the electrical connectors.

Sounds good. I did notice that the breather tube is attached to the top shock absorber mount in the front. Couldn't see where the back was going but it went up a good ways. I think I'll be OK!
