What Kinda metal would be best?

What type metal would be best to use? I was thinking sheet metal, but then I don't know much about plasma cutters and metals.

I tried looking for a thread buzzair may have had on this. Didn't find anything.

if you are talking about the metal to make the letters out of. I would say use aluminum and cut it with a jig saw

Aluminum would be awesome so they don't weigh a ton.

They would only need to be like 1/4" thick

lol a foot and 4 INCHES?!! just kidding. I don't think it would be too expensive, But with Alu you can just weld studs to the back, unless you have alu bolts.

Most older Ford trucks and cars had the letters in bold chrome somewhere on them. Our 66' Ford has big F O R D spaced across the header panel in about 2"(w)x1.5"(h) chrome lettering. I'm thinking of incorporating it on my truck somehow one day maybe.

Hey, you could drill and tap holes for studs, You just would have to be careful how deep you go. Might work, but I,m not sure that there is enough material to do that, but, an idea though.

HTJunkie used to have that on his 98. Everyone hated it, I loved it, and he ultimately ended up taking it off

Hmm, I could only find the thread where he mentions getting the emblems, just not with them on.
