2009 Rangers
I was just on Ford's site and I saw that the '09 Rangers can be built and priced. It doesn't look like they've changed much, but they have some good color options. There's no more 3.0 but I thought it was interesting that you can now order a Sport in a 2.3. It doesn't seem as if you can get a 4X4 model in a regular cab as well. the 4.0 still isn't available in the reg. cab either. I was kind of expecting a bit more as far as options. I heard someone on here say they would have reverse sensors but I didn't see them on the site. At least they're keeping the ol' Ranger

I just went to the Ford Ranger site, and did a questionare about my truck and it's current value....the online appraisal was $3,645 - $6,130 for a 2003 Ranger in excellent condition with 37,000 miles on it. That price sounds really cheap to me, I'd rather keep my Ranger and drive it till the wheels fall off, which should be in about 10-15 years.
The used car and truck market must be way down right now.

For 2009, Mazda has discontinued the SE-5 and the SE models of the B-series. All that are available are base B2300 4x2 regular cabs and base B4000 4x4 4-door extended cabs. No limited slip option...no power windows/locks....nothing. They discontinued the high-end models "to meet customer demand" according to a Mazda PR.
They're already on the lot in Austin.

When you get in the higher priced versions of the XLT models you'll find a host other options just for this years model alone. For examle an option you can now choose is a Coil over front suspension but that model will run a kool $25,000 bucks and theirs nothing more you can put on it at that point. They've gotton a few of them here and it pretty much looks the same just a few extra colors and either a 2.3 or 4.0 only which sucks. They pretty much have to keep the ranger basicly because out of all the light trucks among the big 3 it gets the best mpg's and is more affordable than the other 2.

wrong pal. that's what I thought until I went to the build and price site. It's on the 08 XLT model and it has to be "special ordered." I think it's for this year alone. I don't see why they don't put them on now it's already got the IFS.

It's worth alot more than that easy. That's an extra clean rating there. The only way you can get that rating is with low mileage. You should be able to get at least 10 grand out of it. Maybe even more. But I'm with you on that. I'd rather drive mine until it blows up myself. The only way I can look at rangers now adays is when the dealers are long gone. They seem desperate to get my truck and it aint happening period.
Thanks, but I have no intention of selling my Ranger anytime soon. Even if I were, I'd have a hard time letting it go for $6,000.....it's worth much more than that to me, just look at what a new replacement would cost...You're probably at $20,000+ with similar options.

you're right about that. It gives new meaning to the term bone stock. Hell mine looks like a palace compared to that damn thing. here's where I started to snicker a bit I paid 13,000 for mine and they want over 16,000 for this one.

Uh... you didn't read it too good. I said that's basicly all you're going to get out of it if you were going to trade it in which you aint. I aint trading mine either. the new ones look a little thin to say the least.

www.fordvehicles.com click on the XLT model and click veiw all options. By the time I picked all of mine that I would choose $25,000 plus.

Ya, a new Ranger like mine would cost me about $350-400 a month + down payment and sales taxes, there's no way I'd trade it in.

Oops wrong model. The FX4 offroad and when you veiw the summary it says sla IFS. I guess I saw it on another vehicle one night and after a few too many beers well the old vision gets a little blurry. that was a misread on my part. I guess what I read meant torsion bar front end.
