First on road car, and its a ranger! :) some questions

Well Hello everyone :)

Just a little backstory here, I grew up mostly on a farm leaving me to drive many pickup trucks, the dodge dakota being a favourite of mine (I know I can hear some of you yelling blasphemy! but its hard not to like the first truck you ever drove, its a first driving connection) but far out of my price range for a truck with insurance for mostly city driving and now rare farm drives with almost no farm work.

So here we are, I just purchased a 2010 Ford Ranger 4wd sport with the 4l v6 extended cab at 220,000km (136,701 miles) it was a little high for KM that I wanted and it was absolutely the max I could spend on a car (pics to come once it gets to my house from the dealer, (waiting on plates to get registered)) but it is clean, there is not really any real rust under the truck (other then the drive shaft looks dark but its not really rust rust, (again pics later I have many projects planned with the truck) I am absolutely jumping with joy at how perfect of a truck it is for what I wanted, manual windows and locks but what seems like bucket seats and a Leer cover on the bed really happy.

Now I've been reading around this site and a few other ford ranger fan sites but this seemed the site that moved pasted the internet websites of the early 90's pretty well, and something semi-well designed :)

I've currently planned to do what this guy did:
https://www.ranger-forums.com/projec...-no-way-80597/

for my cb radio install. but I have a few questions for all of you here, as I'm very new now to having a ranger.

is there anything, anything, tips, tricks, cool must have mods, anything even words of wisdom that can be passed along I would be forever appreciated in the kindness.

Thanks :)

EDIT - I lied I found some pictures of the truck siting on the lot. I blacked some stuff out but good pictures will come.

Nice, yes my first vehicle was a 1976 Orange and I mean orange Chevy Nova and I loved that car.. I've always like the old Nova's, but you can't find them anymore unless they are a collector car.

Anyway... you got a nice truck it sounds like. I just purchased a 2009 Ford Ranger Sport it's 4x2 and I've already done some work on it, but for me it's a street ride so I won't be doing anything with the suspension or adding big wheels. What I did do was had rhino lining done right away... this really makes it look good and now when I haul I don't have to worry about anything. Replaced the factory radio with a Pioneer, also replaced all the factory speakers and added Pioneer speakers all around, plus a an amp/subwoofer combo right behind the seat.

I also had the blend door issue when I to the truck, so that too has been fixed. Oh and now I have LED's all around too except for the fogs and headlights, which I swapped them out for some bright white Philips.

I will follow your progress on your truck. Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Pioneer speakers seems to be what most people say are a good upgrade for the stock speakers, Those might be what I go with in a few days, I'm still doing more research on it becuase I dont wanna put a amp, and dont wanna change the head unit, I know I could have a amp with a sub, (I'm putting a optima yellow top battery) but its just too much for me right now, but My mind might change later down the road. Closer inspection of the truck, I've noticed the steering wheel is heavily worn on the left side, (not really too heavy but for sure worn a good bit on the left more then right), so I might have to let the cb wait a few months and replace the stock wheel with another new stock oem wheel from ford, First day ownership. pretty much spend all the money ( "ALL" the money lol :) ) but replace everything with amsoil oil and filters.

I'll be sure to keep a thread updated here, I'm also documenting things for a youtube video for future peoples

1976 Orange chevy nova also a favourite of mine, next to the aspens
