If I were choosing between the two, I would Y it off after the muffler and run two pipes.

What engine?

Add all of your trucks specs in your signature. Go to your "user cp" at the top left of your screen and edit your signature.

No matter what muffler or not you choose, run the pipes out the rear or at least out the sides, don't dump the exhaust under the vehicle to lessen the chance of exhaust fumes getting inside your vehicle. I would definitely go with one in and two out, it will lower the backpressure alot and you can run whatever size you want after the muffler for whatever tips you may want. Post some picks of this if you can, I am interested in this myself. Good luck!

If you don't mind a little noise go straight pipe. We cut the flange off of mine(rusted bad) welded in a section of pipe just in case I decide I want a muffler in the future, then a Y and finally out the corners. If you want to hear the difference with and with out the glasspack during mock up just replace the section of pipe after the flange with the glasspack and start her up! Good luck

as for being helpful, i wouldnt run dual straight pipes unless you've already swapped in a 427. I just swapped in glasspack in place of the factory muffler, I would definitely go si/do.
