2015 3.2ltr Diesel Wildtrack Overheating
I have an issue where my 2015 Ford Ranger Wildtrack is overheating "temporary" , backing fuel off, then normal again for awhile ,varies half hour or 1hr, Then does it again .
I only have the Temperature indicator which is standard on the RH side if dash next to fuel guage This only seems to be happening "under load" when towing my Caravan which is approx 3 ton ( My combined weight is 6 Ton ) After approx 60kms the temperature gauge which has been up to now in normal position just under the Thermometer diagram jumps up !/4 inch in one jump followed shortly after by another "instant " jumps of approx 1" At this point the computer backs the fuel off ( i had a guy from the garage onboard with his computer plugged in and he observed the Temperature of the coolant which had been sitting between 90 deg & 95 deg now jump to 100 deg/110deg/115deg/ back fuel off) After 5 or so minutes temp returns to normal position on gauge, vehicle has power back and all ok for maybe half hour then repeat the process We have changed the Thermostat Checked the coolant for gas ( change of colour)indicting a leaking head ) None present Replaced the radiator with a new one and cleaned a dirty condenser I took the van for a drive yesterday and it did it again at 75Kms /and a couple of times again on way home ,a total of 350Kms Any ideas would be much appreciated Thank you Bruce |
