3.0 to 4.0 swap

I have a 3.0 that I might be swapping for a 4.0. I was wondering if I had to do anything with the computer? and if I did how much do you think that would cost?

thanks ryan

I did it in December and it cost me $10K and I used the computer (unmodified) to find the vehicle I wanted. I could have left the computer alone and just dealt with the local dealer, but he wasn't coming up with the vehicle I wanted.

You'll need to swap the complete engine, transmission, wiring harness, y-pipe and PCM from a compatible year. Personally, I'd just look for a different truck equipped as desired.

easier to buy a truck with a 4.0... Probably easier on the pocket book and time saving.
