3.0 exchange question
Hello, I'm pretty sure that I have blown a head gasket on my 2000 XLT with a 3.0, V Vin. When I go to replace the motor does it matter if it's a flex fuel or not? Thanks

No, it doesn't matter, you can use any 3.0l OHV Vulcan engine, but will need to swap over upper and lower intake to keep your fuel injectors and wiring connections for 2000 wiring
Fuel injectors were different between gas only and flex This engine was used in Rangers from 1991 to 2008 and Mazda B3000 from 1994 to 2006 In my opinion repairing the head gasket or a cracked head would be better, the lower end of these engines last 400k miles usually You can do the Glove Test to confirm blown head gasket or cracked head, its free Glove test in Post #5 here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...gasket-156647/ |
Thank you!
