3 inch body lift question

I'm going to be getting the 3 inch body lift from summit racing probably around christmas time this year this is what im looking into. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
question is what else do I need to make everyting fit properly? Manual shift extension? radiator brackets? I've read people have needed those on other previous body lift atempts.. What else would I need? My truck specs are 2002 2wd 5spd XLT also if i missed anything or didnt give enough info about my truck please tell me. thanks for the help guys:196:

I'm pretty sure it comes with everything but the shifter extension

im just going ask my neighbor to help me with it since he has all the tools and I don't. also this is for my knowledge where are the body bolts located? also does my truck have torsion bars? I want to crank them but can't locate them...

Fx4wannabe01 09-01-2008 01:05 PM

your truck has coil springs...no torsion bars.

There's two mounts at the back of the cab, accessed from the inside.
There's two mounts at your feet, accessed from inside the cab.
There's two mounts on either side of your radiator under the core support.

so 6 total? Might be a stupid question but where are the 2 bolts in the inside of the cab, in the back, and where are the bolts located near your feat.. All i know is where the 2 core support bolts are.. thanks guys

Here is a link from the Performance Accessories web site. It is the installation instructions and will tell you everything you need to know for installing the BL.

nice man where did you find that? mabye i just didnt notice.. thanks man!

Fx4wannabe01 09-01-2008 04:44 PM

Yea...just get under your truck and you'll notice the mounts. the bed mounts are easily seen....you've got 6(or if your a longbed) bolt heads visible inside the bed.

kyle12201 09-01-2008 05:05 PM

Yeah getting the bed off should be simple.. just the cab i had no idea where anything was located. I'll get some help when the time comes..

If you don't know if you have torsion bars or not you should not try to install a body lift.

kyle12201 09-01-2008 06:06 PM

ha im not, going to have my neighbor help me do it since he is a mechanic etc, i'm still learning.. hope this question doesnt sound dumb but why doesnt my truck have torsion bars? are they only on the 4wd models or somthing? also what are they and what do they do.. ill try and search but want some answers here too
