"milky brown" oil, clicking/ticking, water dripping... blown head gasket????
I have a 94 4.0 v6. 165k miles. 2wd 5 spd auto.
Recently I rolled the truck on its drivers side and slid it across a highway... yes, i know, not the most intelligent thing to do.
Since then it has had a leak in the radiator. I have been filling it up constantly but have now noticed a very loud clicking/ticking noise and white smoke coming from the exhaust. water is also dripping off the rear of the cat and the front of the muffler... busted head gasket?
also i checked the oil and it was a milky brown. any one know anything?
Thanks,
John

well...depends how long the engine ran w/o oil pressure while you were rolled over, could have done more damage than you think
its not uncommon to crack the block in a roll over or bad impact...that would definitely explain the mixing of fluids.
pressure test the cooling system, check the plugs and go from there

you for sure blew the gasket on whichever side was "up" when you were sliding. the other side may not be blown, but its forsure on its way out.
the milky brown oil is antifreeze mixing in with your oil, which is a sign of no gasket, the white smoke is antifreeze burning off because of said head gasket.
