4 x 4 problems

Hi everyone, I'm new here and this is my first post, with a little problem. A 2005 4.0 ,auto, Last week I couldn"t go into 4 wheel drive, off to the shop, $4oo dollars later they replaced the motor on the x-fer case. Now it steers weird and the front axles are engaged and I dont think they should be. Or what controls the hubs. I plan on some troubleshooting this weekend. So any advice before I start would be appreciated. Thanks Dan

All 2001 up trucks have a live axle frontend. There are no hubs to engage or disengage, so yes the front axle should always be turning.

The electric shift 4x4 on these trucks always have the engagement problems. A new motor should have fixed your problem temporarily.
