tornado devestation (AL) 56k NO
I live in N.Alabama. Like many of the southern states we were ravaged by tornado's weds. Alabama has suffered the most casualties which as of now stands at 340+ with serveral still missing. I and my family were spared and blessed to be only 1 of very few in N.Alabama to still have power. The Browns Ferry nuclear plant here took a hit knocking out the main power feed, 30 substations and 90+ of it tranmission lines (huge towers with the high voltage lines). I got a few pics of some the devestation that was only a mile from my house as i was getting my dad and some family back to my house since they have no power. As of right now they are sayin 5+- days before they have power restored. Currently there is over 600,000+ people without power. They are finding bodies just layed out in fields and along the roadside. Please Pray for EVERYONE in the southeast that we have a speedy recovery and for those that have lost everything and loved ones. Please be checking with your local charities for any clothing food ect that can be donated to help the ravaged families here!! here are a few pics that i got.
tornado that formed right by our shop at work and headed into the Madison/harvest area
dads backyard with 6' fence, over 8" of rain in just a few hrs.
road into dads house...
some of the devastation

You're right, it is. I've been watching the news and I have to laugh at some of the speeches made about the tornadoes and devastation. I won't comment here as it's not the place, but some have been ridiculous.

Things are getting better here....some areas are gettin power back!! clean up is moving along. National guard is here and helping. Still finding bodies and body parts.....saddening news...found an 18 mnth baby out in a field.....and rest of family in what was left of house...just lots of very sad stories but also stories of hope and blessings!! please continue to pray for everyone including those helping.....several people here killed by generators because they dont know how to let one cool off before refueling of leaving them in the garage and letting the co2 come in there house because they're afraid of people stealing them. we i live in extreme north alabama we are finding mail, checks and personal info paperwork such as w2's from mississippi and hamilton which is about an hr south of here.

no.....that was about 10 miles away or so by the time it hit the ground and the wind went from breezy to about 70mph it seemed, it was hard to stand up....they had 4 confirmed EF4 tornados just in our area and that one in the pic was closer to an EF5....winds were 195-199 mph.

I'm a pretty big history buff and from what i understand, Michigan's only had two EF5 Tornadoes in the last 60 years.

wouldn'a have mattered if one of these tornado's hit you...lol had WHOLE house's here that were anchor bolted and straped to foundation and it ripped everything clean off and left the anchor bolts sticking out of the concrete foundation!!
