93' Ranger vs 00' Frontier?

I was acting a little cocky about my Ranger today, and some how ended up challenging my dad to a tug-o-war. Its his 2000 Nissan Frontier Crew cab 3.3L V6 4x4 auto against my 1993 Ranger XL 3.0L 4x4 5 spd std. I looked at some stats on both trucks, and they are almost dead even in power etc...... does my Ranger stand a chance to win?

my dads been wanting to hook his silverado up to my ranger ever since my hood become 4 inches higher than his...

i hate "tug-o-wars"....why would you wana tear a nice truck up....

Hold your brakes on until he thinks he won...then let the clutch out. I know my Ranger's clutch is nothing special at all, so his auto might get you if you don't play safe.

this game has nothing to do with the truck. it depends on the drivers. Toyota has made a bunch of "tug of war" videos on youtube bull****ting ford, chevy and dodge. and your right, it does hurt the truck.

tug of wars aren't good on asphalt or concrete or something your tires won't spin on, but if it's on snow or grass it's okay because the tires spin and won't break a drive shaft.

yeah...we aare doing it on grass/dirt....which reminds me....I just got new BF Goodrich All-Terrain's, that only have 10 miles in them...his tires have atleast 5,000 miles...if not more

RCL816 04-26-2008 10:12 AM

I think the biggest part in a pull off is who starts to spin their tires first, once your tiers start to spin you loose a great amount of traction.

redranger4.0 04-26-2008 11:57 AM

Is it going to be done in 2wd or 4wd? If its 4wd make sure to use 4 low and try and keep the wheel speed down for the most traction.

mikerider 04-26-2008 12:20 PM

getting the other driver to spin their wheels and slip is key, I did a tug o war against my buddies v8 silverodo and 3 out of three, just stay in the power band, and air down your tires. it helps if the other person has no idea how to pull too.
