Today I asked a man who had this old 95 ranger sitting in yard behind his shop for a while, Well the specs are its 3.0 Auto with Shift on the fly T-case. Said he bought it new in 95 and gave it to his daughter who just gotten married and his son-in-law put 20w-50 in the motor and it slung a rod. He is askin' 500 as. I have the money to do so, but I was curious what yall think? The body is fairly good, It has a few dents but I can fix em

Not sure how hard it would be to do, but you could try 300-400 cash offer, then do a 4.0 swap
Doesn't sound like a bad deal if you have the ability to get it on the road again yourself!
I'd do it... Seems like a good deal... and then do a 4.0 swap as said before
If the frame and body isn't rusted to s&$@ I say buy it. Put a bigger and better motor in it, some meaty tires and wheel that thing.$500 is nothing.
Yay
Id go for it. Fix it up, then you've got yourself one heck of a deal.
buy it. if nothing else, should be pretty easy to part out for 500+.
You could probably get 200 for that toolbox alone.
Chk the frame for rusting and the rust under the cab.
Cab Mounts too may rot out. If the body and frame are in good shape. offer less, might get it, should be a great truck, either to sell or keep. luck, |
I think its a Great deal....
You could probably get 200 for that toolbox alone. Rebuild that 3.0L for porbably cheap and just use that or sell it for a few more hundred bucks drop one of the old BIG v8's in there and soild axel and wheel her. Whats the frame and inside look like? Power windows, doors, ac? AND what did he do to his son-n-law? dumb ass! |
if you can fix it I'd say do it. Looks pretty nice in the photo
Get it. 460 swap into it. 44" Boggers. Dana 80 out back, 60 up front. Drive over Priuses and other hybrids.
Or buy it and send it to me. I'll take good care of it... |
do you really need a second truck? that's another insurance payment, more gas, parts and time to fix it, etc.... sure you can afford it right now, but i would rather have some other nice things instead of two old rangers. there are a lot better and more important things out there than old trucks(especially when yours is already nearly identical minus 4wd right?). just my 2 cents.
