ABS problem in 05 ranger

Ok several months ago, my abs light came on. And well I didnt think much of it... I did, but the truck seemed to stop ok... then a few days later. stopping became a real nightmare as ABS would come on on dry pavement and stop me from actually stopping... At the time, me and my boyfriend didnt have the money to invest in it, so, he suggested I just remove the fuse for ABS... which I did, which fixed the problem, but now I have 2 lights on, on my dash...

What could be the problem? I havent done any 'offroading' not anything like some of you people anyway - wow... lol

dirt roads? the occasional 'drive through the field to get my tree stand' kind of thing...

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a wheel speed senser messing up making the abs module think its seeing a wheel sliding and activating the abs pump. Now because the abs is down with fuse out the gem kicked the red BRAKE light on to alert you you have no abs. you should probably bit the bullit and take it to a good shop and have it scanned and diagnoised.
