air intake ideas?

I have a 2008 ranger, 3.0 l v6 and i want to put in a larger intake, however there is an air sensor that might be a problem. trying to fit a larger line could be tricky. any ideas? i dont want to spend $300 plus i would like to do a custom. drill some holes and try to figure out this air sensor!!! thanks

Are you trying to go to a larger throttle body or just free up the flow to the stock one? These motors have lots of bottlenecks including upper intake and stock throttle body simply putting bigger plumbing won't do much but drain your wallet. i paid 12 bucks on ebay for a cone filter adapter and left everything else stock. It will work nicely if you have a custom exhaust but don't expect to much out of it i see may 1to2 mpg out of the pair but thats about it.

I basicly want to open up the plumbing from the air sensor but the air sensor opening to the stock plubimg with the ruffled chips look i want to exchange with a bigger pipe plus add a cone air filter. it will slightly improve the horsepower and increase motor sound and fuel mileage. i just want to know if anyone has been able to connect a bigger pipe the the air sensor piece. have it start small and expand into a bigger pipe, soomthing lik that anyways.
