As of 6/21/2005 (the last time I updated my spreadsheet):
MPG: 16.93 (average), ~14 (low), ~20 (high) I don't really compute best or worst, and because of the way I figure mileage, I sometimes end up w/ really weird numbers (I have a 1.491 MPG followed by a 58.64 MPG!! because I did a partial fillup one day). Looking through my list I'd say my worst got down to the ~14 MPG mark last winter and got as high as ~20 MPG this summer. This last summer I significantly altered my driving behavior and have since been seeing 18-19 MPG reliably for the last few tanks. My average for the last 6 fillups was 19.2 MPG. Engine Size: 4.0L Gear Ratio: 4.10 Tire Size: 31x10.5x15 Auto vs 5speed: 5-speed manual The truck is also a super-cab FX4 LII, basically the heaviest Ranger imaginable.. The engine/intake/exhaust/etc is 100% stock. More interesting statistics: As of 6/21 I had had the vehicle for 736 days (2.77 years), had driven 26432 miles at a cost of $0.12/mile. I had pumped 1612.891 gallons of gas at a cost of $2869.01. On average I went 6.13 days between fillups. I used 2.191 gal of gas per day of ownership at a cost of $3.90 per day of ownership. |

I get on average 21 summer & 19 winter, my best 28 on long hauls, and my worst 14 but I think that had to do with the gas i bought. I mostly drive 60 + all the time, alot of highway and coutry roads.

Gas miles
I`ve no clue to the mpg but i get 300 miles per tank in a 4.0L SOHC V-6 with a truck rack, im happy with that :smirk:
|
I just filled up. Pumped 12.786 gal w/ 248 mi showing on the trip. That works out to ~19.4 MPG for the last week and a half (last fillup was 9 days ago). Not too shabby in my experience. FWIW, some of those miles were pulling an 8' utility trailer. Trailer and truck bed were loaded w/ building supplies. It seems having a few hundred lbs of load doesn't really seem to effect mileage much at all..

17.5 miles per gallon best, 15 average. 31's 4.10's, and a 4.0sohc
|
prolly above 23 since I got a 4-cyl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
2005 FX4L2, 4.0, auto, fabric bed cover, 4.10.
I get 16 in traffic. 18 hiway. I get 18-19 if I put on the 32" M/T's. I get better milage with Chevron than with Costco gas. |
