Miles per Gallon...

Alright I just drove to Pennsylvania from Michigan over the four day weekend. I was on the freeway for 99% of the trip and got a whole 16.76 MPG there and 16.71 MPG back. The sick thing is on the fillup right before I left I got 17.27 MPG and it was mostly city driving. Granted the average speed was about 75-80 MPH with the cruise control on almost the entire trip but is it just me or does that seem a bit low for highway mileage? I've got a 4.0L, automatic trans and 4.10 gears and rolling on 31's.

That sounds about right for the average speed you were running. I didnt get good mileage at all when above 75 mph.

yea once you go above 55-60 it starts to go down again... 60 is the ideal speed i think for time effecncy, wind resistance and rpms

I get a constant 17, unless I drive like a maniac or go offroading. Doesn't matter if I'm doing stop-n-go city driving or highway miles, it's all the same to my truck. Of course that's all about to change after i'm lifted.. D'oh!

Oh, OK. I figured driving at about 80 was going to kill the mileage but I didin't think it would be that bad. Oh well, I guess I am pushing a brick through the air. As for the guy who said he got about 20 mpg, well I got 310.2 miles when I filled up, of course I put 18.561 gallons in mine

ha.

i have never gotten 15mpg in my truck, since it was stock.

19.5 gallon tank, right?

stock, the best i got was 270 miles to the tank. that's almost 14mpg.

now, with my roofrack, grille guard, toolbox, 32's, 15x8's, etc...

i get 200 miles out of a tank, on the highway. adjust the 9.5% or whatever, for my tires being off. 219 miles.

219/19.5 - 11

let's assume i only let my tank get down to 18 gallons gone. 12

just around town, it's not any better. prolly a couple less...

def. not fuel efficient.

I average between 16-18mpg. This depends on how faster I drive. 33x12.50s, 3.0L, auto, 4.10gears.

in the nice snow and everything here with 4 wheel on most the time i get about 10-11. After 70 on the highway my gas mileage takes a dive. If I keep it under 70 I usually get over 18. My brother claims he got 22.5 going 45 the entire time to our land (just when it goes into O/D).

i went from tally to ft. lauderdale with my friends mattress strapped to my bed Tuesday, and got 20 MPG going between 80 - 85MPH with the 87 mileage program on. Coming back, i averaged 24 MPG between 85 - 90MPH following a caravan back to Jacksonville and then back into town...

round trip was about 1200 miles so i did pretty good with the mileage program on

The last time I checked my mileage on a long trip... I was getting 16-18 MPG at 75 mph with 265s and 4.10s. Recently installed the Underdrive pulley, but have not been able to check what this has done for the MPG.

OR 4x4

you may want to add that tonno cover soon. I put mine on this summer and I can't tell you how much it changed the way my truck perfoms. You notice right away going up hills into a stiff wind that there is no more drag.

I'm getting 16.5 with auto, 31s, 4.10, and tonneau.
18 on roadtrips. I get slightly better mpg when I buy gas outside of los angeles SCAQMD zones.
