Well my dynamatt sound insulation job is finally done. I had the truck off the road for a week completely stripped down to do this. I did pretty much every square inch of sheetmetal inside of the cab with the exception of taking the IP out. I also did the back surfaces of the trim panels. It took atleast 40 hours of work, but it was worth every minute of it. I used Second-Skin's "damplifier pro" sound deadener, which I spent 324$ on. I used just short of 80 sq feet. The results for sound are amazing. It sounds so much more solid, like a luxury car. The road noise is 100 times better and the windnoise has improved as well, not as much as the road noise though. Next step will be to remove the IP and put sound deadener behind that to reduce the engine and transmission noise.

Looks good JP. Don't understand why you put the damp pro on the door panels though. Wouldn't you have been better off with one of the foam products?

I went with 2 layers of damp pro, covered by 4-5 coats of heat wave. (heat wave was a paint when I did mine.) Covered that with lux liner pro or overkill pro.

Don't let it intimidate you Ory. Just do it in stages. I did the doors first. Took me about 3-4 weeks of 4-5 hr days. Only reason it took me that long is I had to remove the Dynamat I had installed by so called "professionals." Then clean up the mess that left behind. Then I did the roof. Finally I removed the seats, rug, and back wall plastic. I started in Dec. 2006 and didn't finish until May 2007. Almost 6 months. If your patient and take your time (I know that's difficult for a 20 something.) it's not really that hard. If I can do it, You can too.
