Icon8 Safety Recall

Just got a letter saying my truck may catch fire if i dont have the speed
control deactivation switch fixed. said parts and labor free but would still
have to miss some work to take it.
2002 ranger xlt
Recall on certain 1992-2004 anyone know witch ones
Vin# is 1TYR44E62PB58990


just called ford and they said stop buy after work Fri. takes 15 min
hope it doesnt catch fire till then.

If it hasn't caught fire by now, odds are it's not going to.

If this is the same recall im thinking off i had one on my E150, they just put another fuse or something like that in the brake booster, takes a whole 2 minutes for them to do, they didnt even take mine from the garage that you sign the truck in to the service garage, they just did it there in the garage that you sign in at in and out in 5 minutes

I had it done, and I think it took them longer to get the part than fix it. Get it done!

actually i think this affects all rangers, and f150's up to 2004. i remember reading about this a LONG time ago. which is why its VERY rare i park my truck in my garage over night.

had it done today and yea the paper work took longer. still not the notice
you want to get in the mail. ive only had this truck 6 months and i kind of like it

just call the dealer and tell them what year to see if you aply make an apointment takes 15 mins

1992~2004 Ford vehicles.

The recall for Rangers is 98 through 2002. The switch, circuit and fusing were improved on 2003-up Rangers.

Got mine in the mail today too. Wish they would re-call it and fix all the other stupid crap that has went to hell on my truck. Then again...I would hate to have it burn up too.

I got my notice friday. I had been wondering if they would ever send me a notice I went straight to the dealership and it took them about 20 minutes to change the part.

got my notice, probably will call ford and drive it by there. hey if it hasnt caught fire in 5 years it's not too bad:)
