Hidden Hitch relocation help

I didn't cut my hitch, rather cut the spare tire carrier out and mounted it to the bottom of the top of the frame rails. I had to remove the bed to do it and it wasn't fun, but it works great. Nowadays I'd recommend either some fabwork to the hitch or buy the streetscene hitch from summit. It is meant to come out of the license plate on lowered trucks but will sit exactly where it should on a body lifted truck.

Its pretty much useless with a BL, since I would have to take the bumper off just to unwind the cable.
Would I have to take the bed off to cut it off? It would be one less thing to rattle.

To get the hitch to fit you'd have to cut the carrier out and also do some cutting on the ends of the frame rails. Then you'll have to remember the rearmost bed bolts will interfere with the hitch mounting points so I had to drill new holes in the hitch for those to pass through. Its not ideal and its not easy. I don't see any way to do it without removing the bed. It took me a good 8 hours to do it.
Like I said, I'd either buy the streetscene hitch or do some work to your existing hitch.
