My g/f took her edge in for service this morning, she got an oil change, tires rotated and a rattle fixed. anyway the tech said her tires were starting to cup and there was a devective tire on the 2001-2004 ranger super cabs with the goodyear 245/75/16s. they had a tendicy to cup in low milage and should be replace with goodyear 255/70/16s.

regular cab owners should have the goodyears replaced with BFG long trail TAs...

havent seen anything about this so u may want to check into if u've noticed some cupping of ur tires.

Trailer or bed swap to haul quad? (bigger pic of trailer)

Holy crap that is some serious cupping.

I have the BFG long trail TAs on my supercab, they suck ass

Pretty much all factory tires suck. The Continentals on 2WD Rangers wear in no time, even when kept at the recommended pressure and regularly rotated. The Goodyear Eagle GTIIs that I have are excellent street tires and not overly expensive. For a stock height 2WD that is pretty much a pavement only truck, they would work well as a replacement.

i had the same thing with my old stock tires.. took it to the dealer to see what they'd say, and they told me it was the tires making the wierd noises, etc... they then tried to get me to buy 2 of the same exact tire for 190 each.... i told them i could get much better for less so they said alright whatever, and never mentioned anything about replacing them with a different sized tire. oh well tho, now i have much better tires, and got about 69,000 out of the stock pieces of shit!!!

Rangers can be tough on tires anyway if you don't keep them up.

there indestructable....

SONICEDGE03 11-07-2004 03:12 PM

Well I already replaced the tires on the ranger but I still have the stockers that were cupped. Think that I could take those in and get a set of new tires? That would be awesome!

Really? I know two people at work that have'em on their pickups (a toy and a nissan though). They both love the tires! I was thinking about a set for my next tire if I don't trade the damned thing before these AT's wear..

Mnemonic 11-08-2004 06:33 AM

I like my BFG's. They seem to do alright, and were way better than the wranglers I had on my '03. I do want 32" Revo's though, unfortunately my dealership offers free tires for life. OEM tires of course.

NHBubba_Revisited 11-08-2004 07:08 AM

For LIFE?! That's a helluva deal.. All expense paid burnouts! :-D

Mnemonic 11-08-2004 07:39 AM

Just gotta do ALL scheduled maintenence through the dealership though...

NHBubba_Revisited 11-08-2004 07:43 AM

I think it'd be worth it for what you save in the cost of rubber..

blckout 11-08-2004 08:35 AM
