i dont know..

i just bought a brand new battery.. an optima yellow top actually. my old battery wasnt completely dead, just getting there. i figured i might as well fix it before im stuck on the road somewhere. so whenever i installed this battery, i tested the alternator the same day and it tested good. cool. 2 weeks later my brand new optima is on the verge of death. i kept my old battery just in case.. i went ahead and put it in so i can get to work tomorrow. the battery light is still on... i dont know what to do. i was researching relays in the catalog at work and saw some relay called a batt charge relay... never heard of it but apparently its there. think this could be the source of my wows????

i never heard of that on our trucks but i think you need to have the alternator bench tested and like the above poster said go through the connections...

i've heard plenty of horror stories on optima's... how long do you have the truck sit without driving? i know that discharging the battery a few times would kill it.
