Icon12 B4000 RECON install

I got the RECON bar installed on the B4K, looks hella sick with no tailgate at dusk and at night. I installed LED bulbs for the brake lights in the tails also. I also ordered the tailgate bolts for the truck today, and I'm selling my toolbox to get a tonneau cover. Once its all on and cleaned I'm going to be looking REAL sexy in the A$$ department in 2 weeks!

here are some pics

Yeah its one of the easiest and cheapest ways to make your truck stand out. Plus its functional. And I bought it from Alon! Props to Alon!

Very true, I've seen under 10 the entire time I've been driving.

reminds me of the strip lights people put along their running boards, back in the '80's. i went the route of the duallys: the 3 red lights just above the license plate.
but, if you like the lights, that's all that matters!

yeah i love it. eventually i want to replace the turn signal and reverse bulbs with LEDs, then get a visor for my windshield and put amber LEDs in that, and do the whole HID headlight/foglight mod, so I can have the most light i can get. im all about the lights what can i say? =)

Hey Steven. Nice mod. Considering it myself, but I have a couple ?'s for you or anyone else who has installed this.

#1. Does the light bar cover up the hole to lower the spare tire?

#2. Do you have to disconnect the light bar to tow a trailer?

Yes on both counts. The lights come with these 4 little plates with double stick tape on one side that you stick under your tailgate. The lightbar then attaches to those plates with 4 screws, making it a breeze to take it off when you need to get to the spare. And yes you have to disconnect the trailer pin connection so you can plug your trailer up.

x2 Trent.

Jason, it would literally take you less than 3 minutes to take the light off and connect the trailer.

Less than that, you don't even have to take the light off to connect the trailer, just unplug it!

truth truth. but i was thinking more along the lines of him having a flat tire like 5 minutes before he was ready to tow a boat. so he'd need to access the spare tire and the connecter for the trailer!
