Bed extender or cargo bag

Which do you use...on those quick runs to the store to keep your bags of groceries or other stuff near the tail gate and in place.
I would like to get a bed extender...but looks like a PIA when loading full length stuff and you don't want to drop the gate. Does it flip up halfway?

Who uses their bed extender.. is it handy?
(or is it behind your tv like every pic of them on CL)

i use a 2x4 or 2x6 in the bed liner slot to keep everything in place by the tailgate.

I used my bed extender quite a bit... worked pretty good! When I needed to use the full length of the bed with the gate still up I'd just pop it off and flip it up on it's end over top of whatever else was in the box.

Awesome that's what I was wondering about...pop it off and turn it up. Sounds pretty quick.

I'd use for the once in awhile beer pizza chips watermelon summer runs then back to needing a bed, so not sure if i need to haul it around. But saw used one with hardware for 60 bucks so I figured why not.

I carry golf clubs and other large sport duffels and use a gull wing cross box stuffed with tools in it already...and the dog would demolish any food in the cab lol.

Great comments!

Got them bungees...thats been my system for 20 years...just that wife always hates threading the plastic shopping bags thru the handles and pulling tight onto the hooks while I warm up the rig...hahaaha

One of those cargo bag nets might be the ticket but they have no way to cinch up the bottoms and look too small.
