Quad in bed of Style Side

Quad in bed of Flairside
I have a 2001 4X4 Edge with a 3 " body lift and Flairside bed . I am looking for ideas to make it easier to load a quad into my bed. It fits perfect once it is in but lifting the rear wheels of the quad over the tailgate rails is getting to be a pain.
Leaving the rear tires on the tailgate seems ok for short trips but anyone done a long trip or off-road this way.
Thanks, any idea appreciated.

Yup better safe than sorry. And like Stone said ramps will help so much, they're not too expensive either.

Thanks everone I do have ramps. and I can drive it up and in the back . Sometimes I can get the front wheels up onto the wheel wells and that gets the back tires onto the tailgate. most time I get to the back of the wheel wells and have to push it the rest of the way not to bad and doable. It is just having to lift the rear wheels up and over the tailgate side rails that is killing me. Straps? what are those... just kidding use to up front to pull quad forward andone in the rear across the frame and pulled down. Rear wheels lock the quad against the tailgate rails and the tailgate limit straps hold the side of the tires in. I was just worried about the bed being opened up at the back and bending it.
Thanks again for the replies.
