So, it's been a few years since I was on here. I think the last time I was here I was 20 and had just got my 2007. I'm now 24 and I've been... Busy?

The story begins in early 2012, when my dear ranger was caught in the center lane of a 4 lane highway here in Dallas during a baseball sized hail storm. Traffic ground to a halt immediately and I could not escape, I had to just sit there and take it. Geico took one look at it and deemed it totaled, estimating the damage to be well above $5k. At the time, I only owed $5k on it and it only had 55k miles, so I opted to take a $4500 check and keep the truck. I paid the last $500 on it, and when I had the title, it was time to have some fun.

First step was some 35" Maxxis Buckshots that I got for a hell of a steal on Craigslist for $100.

I picked up some 17" Mustang GT rims and I paid Wal-mart to slap them on, because the overriding theme of this project is I really don't care how bad I ---- up the truck. Amazingly, the 35" tires fit, but I had to rip off the front valence and chop up the front bumper to keep them from rubbing, and I could barely turn without the front rubbing and running over the slightest bump would bottom them out.

Starting with the fender, I sanded down all the hail dents and filled them in with Bondo, sanded them flush, and then painted over the fender with roll-on Rhinoliner.

Over the next few weeks, whenever I found time in between fulltime class and fulltime work, I gave the same treatment to every body panel, filling in all the hail dents and Rhino lining the truck.

Time for the fun to begin.

Front end work

Rhinolined and lifted on 35s. Finally, no more rubbing or bottoming out.

Some cheap lettering. Going with an Evil Dead / Army of Darkness theme.

Roll Bar from Craigslist

Little zombie pizzazz for the dash

First weapon. Mounted on 3/8" bolts with nice little wing nuts.

Decided I didn't like the way the roll bar hid the lettering and I didn't like the cheap vinyls anyhow so I re-did it with a projector, lots of packing tape, a razor, and elbow grease.

Second weapon. Same mounting.

And a little blood to spice things up. That's how it sits now. Oh yeah, and it's a 2wd 2.3L with 64k on the clock. Got a lot more planned, but that's it for now.

Oh yeah, I also have this. It's a 1994 2.3L 5speed 4x4. Street Legal dune buggy. "The Stig"

I don't even want to know how much worse your thought process was when you were 20.

this makes me sad. at first i was thrilled to see this thing getting fixed and lifted with those tires, loved the rhino liner...then it went to hell in a hand basket real quick.

Does your insurance have a clause about coverage when the the machete rattle loose and hits another car?

I like it. You should show up to a movie theater at midnight Thursday for the Evil Dead premiere.

Wow....nerd.

Looks like I'm going to take the minority opinion here and echo the loving sentiments of all Evil Dead fans. This thing is awesome. I like the Rhino Lining a lot. I had the body line down done on my ranger and gave thought to just doing the whole truck, but the paint's not bad enough yet. The only thing I would change is MAYBE turning the machete blade-side facing into the bed. Other than that, this thing rules.
