BIG Difference in Spark Plug Part Numbers???
Hey Everyone,
Went to dealer and bought Motorcraft OEM plugs for my 2003 3.0 NON flex fuel. Pulled the first old plug out and the part number is AGSF 32PGM. The plugs I was given by the dealer was AGSF 32FM. The owners manual specifies AWFS 32PP. What the hell??? My 2007 997S is easier to buy things for. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks a ton. |
i remember seeing something about different part numbers for plugs on the different sides of the 3.0 engine... i didnt even bother to look at the part numbers on mine when i changed the plugs but its running great still... maybe motorcraft changed the part numbers

Heading back to dealer right now, will update. Thanks Gator

wtf are you wasting time with a Ranger for if you have a 2007 997S
Pics please! |
Platinum plugs are going through an evolution and the numbers get superceded sometimes. The "F" stands for fine wire and it is a newer style platinum plug that requires lower firing voltage and is said to increase coilpack life and reduce misfires.
The Motorcraft catalog lists AGSF32FM (platinum finewire-nickel plated shell) as the correct plug for a 2003 U-code 3.0L like yours. It appears that Ford is getting smarter about this and they no longer list plug numbers in the Ranger owners manuals. Instead, they tell you to "see your dealer or a qualified service technician". |

Pics please! Hey thanks for the input Bob, I did just get back from the dealer and indeed the correct plug part number is: SP-432 AGSF 32FM. Now what about gap? Sticker under hood states .042 - .046 What about .044? |
Would love to show you a pic of the 997. How do I upload it? Considerably different than the Rennlist Porsche forum method.
Thx |

The car is simply amazing, it is the most agile connected and almost the quickest car I have ever driven. There are faster cars like Vipers, Z06's, etc.. but when you factor in the Porsche's legendary knife edge steering, suspension, and brakes it seems MUCH faster than any Viper or Vette. As far as this forum goes, in the short time I have been a member I have received more help here than any Porsche forum. Thanks Guys (and girls if any here?) |
Dude, baller car and I love the kind of location your house is in. The more trees and foliage, the better.
|
That car is amazing, i love the color choice.
