Big THUNK part 2

1st of all thanks for the feed back!

got it narrowed down to the breaks, unfortunately i dont have the time to do it my self... inner part got thin and flew out....

so the big question..... ceramic or regular pads??

enraged_hunter 05-16-2007 06:43 PM

i would go regular unless you do a lot of hauling. i had a set of ceramic pads glaze over on me and they were not worth a shi# if you ask me

Tearloch 05-16-2007 07:05 PM

thanks hunter

Tearloch 05-17-2007 03:48 PM

If he had to do both bearings, that can get quite expensive. I just had mine done.. Was a little over $1000.. Over $800 in the bearings themselves if I remember right..

BBBB51 05-17-2007 05:10 PM

are we talking 4 wheel drive

Tearloch 05-17-2007 05:11 PM

yea, 4 wheel drive... no did not take it to the dealer, monroe muffler... had to was getting bad...

mental ambiguity 05-17-2007 05:18 PM

Mind if I ask what the cost was on the bearings? Roughly.. Cause I had mine done, and I'm a 4x4 as well.. And well, as mentioned above, it wasn't cheap..

Tearloch 05-17-2007 05:25 PM

$480 on the bearings, ceramic b-pads $125.33, rotors $137.71, all prices before labor

mental ambiguity 05-17-2007 05:29 PM

Damn bearings.. lol.. Sounds about right for what you paid to me though..

Tearloch 05-17-2007 05:57 PM

just stinks, wanted to get black out headlights, today was a bit expensive.... on the other hand i did et a great deal on a 60" Mitsubishi flat screen rear projection for $1000, so grand total for today.....$2266, so the wifie gave me the look when i wanted to order the lights.....

JDouglass 05-19-2007 06:56 AM

Yep i did mine myself i spent $460.00 on the bearings did front and rear brakes new rotors, drums, spring kits etc also purchased new Tires shocks front and rear ....ball joints lower 2 upper control arms etc when it was all said and done i think i had about $1300.00 wrapped up in suspension and brakes ...over 1800.00 if you count the tires and an alignment
