When it blinks that means a transmission fault has been detected, I'm doing more research now.

It usually indicates the trans has had a slipping event.

Check your tranny fluid dipstick, what color is it? It should be a reddish color, does it smell burnt at all? Have you been having weird shifts at all?

I would take it in to a shop ASAP before it gets worse.

Just have them pop in a manual tranny, of course you'll be dealing with slave cylinders then lol

Most likely a tranny shop will tell you that a soft re-build is needed,my OD light came on from time to time the code said i had slipping in 3rd but it drove ok.I had the fuild and filter changed and added another 30k before selling the truck.(157k)

i had that about a month ago in my 08... turns out i was losing 5th gear and needed a new transmission, but from what ive heard it can be as simple as one of the sensors failing

Mine started blinking one time.
The only thing that stopped it was a $1500 rebuild.

It is a CEL for the transmission. There could be a number of things ranging from a sensor has gone bad, to a clutch pack destroyed.

What is the color/smell of your trans fluid? Is it milky? Black? Chunks in it? last time your filter has been changed?

my truck is doing this.

well, it was. it hasnt shown up since.

i think the linkage or w/e needs to be adjusted, because it shifts perfectly fine, but shifting into drive and reverse is a little wierd sometimes.

it shifts, but sometiems it takes a little longer to engage.

im not to worried. warranty ftw.

On my 99 when I tried to disable the abs by pulling the fuse I got the O/D light flashing. Might check your fuses for the hell of it.
