I'm going to be picking up a bike and I'd like to load it in my bed using my atv ramps but I don't know if the bike will bottom out on the tailgate? Anyone ever transport a bike this way? I really don't want to get a trailer for it! Thanks!

 

I think it will hit, find a small hill or something to back up to so you can have a better approach angle. I found a retaining wall to be quite handy when I hauled a YZF600 for a family member. You could ride it?

 

I hauled my Busa in my Ranger all the time with atv ramps no problem even off loading in a flat walmart parking lot. My ramps are arched some which helps and my Ranger is stock height. Busas wheelbase is longer so youll be fine. A small bank or drain to put rear axle in does help though.

 

Crap, my ramps are straight so that's going to be a problem. I don't know what the terrain looks like where I'm picking the bike up at so I might have to get some that are arched or see if a friend has some. I'd love to ride it home, but it won't be registered to me yet!

 

You just bought it, nobody has anything registered the second they buy something. Dont be scared, ride it, the gixxer wants you to pin it.

^^ LOL , I think just get a long 2" by 6" or ramps with a slight curve would work aswell

 

Just ride it. My parents and i went to NC to get my dads truck and drove it all the way back lol.

Good luck with the bike, just don't be stupid. One of my friends got a 600 a little over a year ago without knowing much about it and has done great and loves it. I know another friend who insisted on getting a 600, got one about 3 weeks ago, a few days later he dropped the clutch in front of his house and it went flying up in the air, came down and screwed up all the expensive stuff on the bike haha, at least he didn't kill himself. So just be smart with all the power.

 

I loaded my GSXR 1k with no problem at stock height. Now, once the bike was dropped I backed up to a hill and loaded it still with no problem.
