no. there was a top nut on it. that was easy to take off. but now the bolt just sits there spinning freely. my guess is that the bushings are holding it in place, and it will not come off!

put alot of PB blaster.. and take a torch to it.. just watch out for FIRE.. lol.. also.. put some vice grips or sumthin on it.. hope that helps

blackbetty Feb 17, 2007 05:15 PM

if theres no nut on it then it should come, i think its just super rusted to the bushings and washers.....strike it with a mallet a couple times and break the rust loose.

l2en Feb 17, 2007 05:17 PM

is it threaded onto the body? if you removed the nut on top that'd mean the bolt just needs to come out? did you try brute force? BFH?

gumby Feb 17, 2007 05:20 PM

it is threaded into the bushing as well as the top nut, travis.

try anything you can get to hold the bushing from turning, and use heat.

nope, im pretty sure its just held in there with the bushings. i tried brute force and a BFH lol, but it still not coming out. i'll try red_fx2's idea with a torch in a bit though.

bf pair of channel locks?

lol, never touched the body mounts on the ranger

Redneckstone Feb 17, 2007 06:06 PM

vise locks on the washer there on top, torch it till you smell the rubber burning and IMPACT it off

Naturally Aspirated Feb 17, 2007 08:29 PM

alright guys, ive tried everything u all suggested, and ive just about had it. the pos will not budge. iv been trying for several hours now, and cant go on because of this dumb body mount. im thinking of just cutting the damn thing off, washer and all. u guys think i'll be fine just running the body lift block in the front? maybe crank the t-bar if its uneven?

im freakin exhausted. i shouldve been done by now... :15:

Did you hold the top metal peice above the bushing with a pair of channel locks????? The bolt threads into that peice and can be a pain to get out. Do you have air tools, use an impact if you do.

:notworthy
thank you guys! i went out and bought a BF channel lock and retried it and it worked!

jrpro130 Feb 17, 2007 10:46 PM

BFCL FTW!!!!

Thats what I used...it was still a PITA though on mine...on kevins, it took about 10 minutes of head scratching, then the light bulb went off

Sonic_03 Feb 17, 2007 11:08 PM

i was lucky all 3 trucks ive done the bolts fell right out..yay!

bryanjints Feb 18, 2007 05:05 PM

I had the same problem with that same mount so when I saw your picture I just laughed out loud. I used channel locks and spent much time, sweat, and blood to get that off.

When working on mine my hand slipped and hit the front cross member. It hurt so bad I couldn't scream I fell to the ground frozen. I am sure I cracked one of the bones in my hand. I lost strength in it for 2 weeks and just writing this now is causing me some pain.
