I broke a bolt and cant get it out.
So i had to take the y pipe off to get the transmission out of my truck. well as i took the y pipe off 3 of the 4 bolts came out fine. but of course there is always one that breaks. well its the passenger side outer bolt.
i tried welding a nut to it but and heating the hell out of it and it didnt move one bit so now im stuck what should i do?

It took over 3 hrs to get the bolts out the first clutch I did.....Heat, turn BACK AND FORTH, heat, TURN BACK AND FORTH, repeat for 1hr each is what it took. Tried welding but jsut broke/got in the way. Vice grips, lots of oxyace, and two people.
When we pulled the pipe from a RUSTY 97, we broke all four. I wound up getting the torch and plamsa to simply burn new holes through the flange. Put 1/4 bolts in place of the studs, worked pretty good. Not easy, but the plasma made it MUCH EASIER. It can be done with a torch, but get some good leather (for you, protection) and try to work from the top.
I tried drilling at first, no way you had enough room.
